  108.  
  109. In the one player game, you buzz in using the SPACEBAR.
  110.  
  111. In the two player game, Player 1 uses the "A" key and Player 2 uses the
  112. "L" key.

  114. In the three player game, Player 1 uses the "A" key, Player 2 uses the
  115. SPACEBAR, and Player 3 uses the "L" key.

  163. The installation procedure for CrossWords is quite simple.  The package
  164. includes a program which automates the entire process.  You will need
  165. about 360K of available disk space on the hard drive on which you plan
  166. to install CrossWords.

  168. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  169. CrossWords.
  170.

  172. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  173.  
  174. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  175.  
  176.    o  Place CrossWords distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  177.       appropriate diskette drive.
  178.  
  179.    o  Run Microsoft Windows 3.1. If you do not have Microsoft Windows
  180.       3.1 installed on your machine, follow the instructions in the
  181.       Microsoft Windows manual before proceeding.
  182.  
  183.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  184.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, select
  185.       File Run from the Program Manager and type "a:install".
  186.  
  187.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  188.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  189.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  190.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  191.       the CrossWords files to that directory. It will make no other
  192.       changes; specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or
  193.       config.sys files.

  198. If you downloaded CrossWords from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  199. archive files from some other source), you will not need to do
  200. anything further. The fact that you are reading this message will
  201. indicate that CrossWords has been installed on your machine.

  206. Once you've complete the installation, you should consult the documents
  207. (filename extension "doc") which have been installed.  In particular,
  208. read at least README.DOC. That document will tell you how to invoke the
